What you'll need

01 · Basics

Your information

Name, email, your college or university, whether you're an undergraduate or graduate student, your program or field of study, and your expected graduation year.

02 · The essay

500–800 words

The heart of the application — see the prompt below. Type it into the form; you may also attach it as a PDF. Write like a person, not an application.

03 · One confirmation

That you've read the rules

A checkbox confirming you have read the official rules and the privacy notice. That is the whole form.

04 · Not required

What we don't ask for

No GPA, no transcript, no student ID, no address or phone number, no photo, no fee. Enrollment is confirmed with the recipient's school before the award is paid.

The essay prompt

Tell us about something you've built — a project, an organization, a skill, a body of work — and what it taught you about building things that last.

The scholarship's founder ran the world's first kid-run nonprofit at an age when most of us were still figuring out homework. He isn't looking for polish or pedigree — he's looking for evidence that you start things, stick with them, and learn from them.
